A little bit ago, my mom and I went on a field trip to the Palo Alto Airport. We did see many interesting things there like viewing the airport from the control tower. We learned all about how the Palo Alto Airport was one of the more advanced airports in the area. I was very surprised because they used plastic tiles to keep track of the planes taking off and landing. I asked about this, and they said that a lot of airports use paper, and when they are done talking to the pilot, they throw out the paper.
We got to find out how the airport works by talking to the Operations Manager. I also got to sit in a Cessna plane and learned about Bernoulli’s Principle and how airplanes fly. If I start taking lessons now, I can apply the hours to getting my pilot’s license when I am 16!
